RUSH: Kurt in Pittsburgh, hello, sir.  Nice to have you on the EIB Network, and how about the Steelers defense?

CALLER:  How about those Steelers, huh?

RUSH:  How about that?

CALLER:  Hey, listen, Rush, longtime listener, first-time caller, one of those Bible, family, gun clingers from western Pennsylvania.

RUSH:  Thank you.

CALLER:  And I wanted to share a story with you.  A week ago last Saturday we went to the Palin-McCain rally in Washington, Pennsylvania, and we have a five-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, and we made a sign that said: ‘We Love Kids with Down Syndrome.’  So when they pulled in in their bus the sign did catch their, McCain and Palin and the rest of their family, it caught their eye, we could tell, they gave us a thumbs-up from the bus, so we were all excited just by that –

RUSH:  Wait, wait, wait.  Who gave you the thumbs up, McCain and Palin?

CALLER:  McCain, Palin, Cindy McCain, we could see them from the bus. We were in a position where we had eye contact with them –

RUSH:  Oh, cool!

CALLER:  My wife was holding our daughter.

RUSH:  Very, very, very cool.

CALLER:  It was really cool, Rush. I was like, ‘Wow, that’s awesome,’ because I love Governor Palin and so I thought that’s really neat.  So then we moved around as the bus was getting ready to pull out, we kind of positioned ourselves so we could just wave them on and a Secret Service agent came up to us and said, ‘Hey, can you come with us?’  I was like, ‘Do we have a choice?’

RUSH: (laughing) You shouldn’t have worried.  It’s not the Clinton administration.

CALLER: Right. So we accompanied them up the hill, we went right to the bus, where it was, and Governor Palin, Senator McCain, Cindy, Todd Palin, they’re all standing there. We’re in this inner circle with just us and them, and the Secret Service agent, and they came right up to us and thanked us for coming out, said they loved our sign, and Governor Palin immediately said, ‘May I hold your daughter?’ and our daughter Chloe, who’s five, went right to her, and I have some pictures I’d love to send you maybe when I’m done here, but Governor Palin was hugging Chloe, and then her little daughter brought their baby Trig who has Down syndrome from the bus, he was napping, and Chloe went right over and kissed him on the cheek, and my son Nolan who’s nine, he thanked her.

RUSH: This is amazing.

CALLER: I will send you all the stuff, Senator McCain was talking to my son, and we thanked him for his service, and he asked my son if he wanted to see the bus, and we were hanging out and it was very surreal. I felt like we could have had a pizza and a beer with them, they were so warm.

RUSH: You know what? I want to put you on hold. I want Snerdley to give you our super-secret, known-only-to-three-people here, e-mail address.

CALLER: I will send you everything, Rush.

RUSH: And then could you send us these pictures? Would you mind if we put them on the website?

CALLER: I would be honored, and my main thing is they are warm, kind, genuine people, and they represent the best of this country.

RUSH:  That’s right.  And when you send these pictures, make sure you identify them.  I mean, we’ll know Palin and McCain, of course.  Identify yourselves.

CALLER:  I will, I will identify everybody in the picture, Rush, and God bless you for being a beacon of hope and truth in this country.

RUSH:  Oh, no, no.  It’s nothing, it’s nothing.  You’re doing the Lord’s work.

CALLER:  Well, we’re very blessed and I want people to know what a blessing it is to have a child with Down syndrome. These kids, they’re angels.

RUSH:  That’s the thing.  There’s always good to be found in everything that happens.  It may be a while before it reveals itself.

CALLER:  Absolutely.

RUSH:  Right, and when she hugged my daughter I said, here’s the difference, this candidate embraces life and all its limitless possibilities.

RUSH:  All right.

CALLER:  That’s what she is.

RUSH:  Terrific, okay, I gotta run here, but I’m going to put you on hold.

CALLER:  Thank you, Rush.

RUSH:  Thank you, Kurt.  I really appreciate it.

The facts surrounding the New York City rally organized by the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations, to protest the visit of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and demonstrate opposition to the Iranian government’s effort to acquire nuclear weapons, are slowly trickling out.

Governor Sarah Palin, on behalf of the Republican presidential ticket, was invited and accepted.

Senator Hillary Clinton was invited presumably to represent the Obama team but then withdrew in a [1] fit of pique, we are told, upon learning that Palin would be there.

An effort was extended to [2] Senator Joe Biden but he was otherwise occupied.

A group of [3] liberal Jewish groups then prevailed on the rally organizers to disinvite Palin. What was to be a bipartisan show of support had collapsed. The McCain camp fired off a statement on Thursday:

Throughout my political career, I have sought to rise above partisanship on critical national issues. Nowhere is this truer than on important matters of national security. Earlier this year, Senator Clinton, Senator Obama and I issued a joint statement on the genocide in Darfur and pledged to support efforts to bring it to an end. Earlier this month, Senator Obama and I put the campaign aside to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country and talk about the importance of national service.

“Next Monday, the day before Iranian President Ahmadinejad is to speak before the United Nations General Assembly, several organizations will sponsor an event to draw attention to the importance of halting Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Governor Palin and I share a strong belief that a nuclear armed Iran poses a grave threat to the security of Americans and to our allies. Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. The risk that Iran would provide terrorists with a nuclear weapon is too great for the world to ignore. Iranian President Ahmadinejad has denied the Holocaust occurred and called Israel a ’stinking corpse.’ A nuclear-armed Iran would destabilize the entire region.

Preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons should be a shared goal of every American, not another occasion for partisan posturing.

“Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad’s goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama’s campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest.

Thursday evening I spoke with Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, about the cancellation of the event next week. He said: “This is one of the saddest days for the Jewish community — to let a vocal minority of partisan folks hijack a bipartisan event.” “We should send a message to Iran and the rest of the world that Iran’s effort to acquire nuclear weapons is unacceptable,” he added. Brooks holds activist groups such as  “J Street” (a group of Left wing activists attempting to style themselves as an alternative to AIPAC) responsible for “stirring the pot” and pressuring the event’s sponsors to withdraw the invitation to allow Palin to speak. He said, “At the end of the day all we can ask of community leaders is to invite both sides to attend.”

Many observers, regardless of political preference, would agree that this was a shameful episode.

Apparently, the Obama camp and its allies on the left have higher priorities than a showing of bipartisan solidarity on an issue they claim to care about. Whatever drama surrounds the Clintons had ripped through the Jewish community, dashed a showing of bipartisan support, and given Ahmadinejad a moral victory.

But Barack Obama may have been the biggest loser on a number of fronts.

Obama is after all struggling to [4] overcome skepticism in the Jewish community. His past [5] affiliation with Palestinian groups, his flip-flop on an “Undivided Jerusalem,” his coterie of [6] advisors who have made troubling comments regarding Israel or America Jews have given pause to some Jews, the vast majority of whom have voted Democratic in presidential elections.  The fact that partisan politics by Obama’s allies — and perhaps his own campaign — submarined an event in defense of both U.S. and Israeli interests will not go unnoticed. Many will ask: “Is bumping Palin off the stage more important than standing up to Ahmadinejad?” It seems so.

On a broader level, Obama’s claim to fame is his ability — how can we forget — to organize his community. His dismal failure here, indeed his role in wrecking a community protest, doesn’t speak well of his ability to bring people together for a common purpose.

And finally, to the extent this implicates Joe Biden, it adds fuel to the fire of burning discontent as to his selection as VP. This is not his only [7] faux pas with Jewish organizations, it should be noted. Just last month he got into a row with AIPAC which had to be quickly patched up.

Bluntly put, this is a mess. The group’s organizers, the liberal Jewish groups who thought it more important to “dis” Palin than Ahmadinejad, and the Obama camp, all look amateurish and misguided. The others have a lifetime to live this down — Obama has less than fifty days before Election Day.

So the question remains: How’s he going to fix it?

Does John McCain represent a third Bush term? The Obama campaign claims the two are almost indistinguishable. It was the mantra during the Democratic convention, and it is the theme of new ads Barack Obama is running. The ads claim that McCain is “no maverick when he votes with Bush 90 percent of the time.”

This week Obama has begun a constant refrain that there is “not a dime worth of difference” between Bush’s and McCain’s views. It is a consistent theme of Democratic pundits on talk shows.

Is this the same McCain who drove Republicans nuts on campaign finance, the environment, taxes, torture, immigration and more? Where has McCain not crossed swords with his own party?

As it’s being used, the 90 percent figure, from Congressional Quarterly, is nonsensical. As Washington Post congressional reporter Jonathan Weisman explained, “The vast majority of those votes are procedural, and virtually every member of Congress votes with his or her leadership on procedural motions.”

Obama might want to be a little careful with these attacks, as the same measure has him voting with Democrats 97 percent of the time.

Fortunately, a number of organizations on the left and right provide useful evaluations on how congressmen and senators vote each year. These conservative and liberal groups pick the votes they care about most and figure out how often lawmakers match up with their positions.

Well-known organizations that rank congressional voting include the American Conservative Union on the right, Americans for Democratic Action on the left, and the nonpartisan National Journal in the middle. The League of Conservation Voters also ranks politicians from an environmentalist position.

These groups’ rankings from 2001 to 2007 paint fairly similar pictures, putting McCain to the left of most Republican senators and to the right of most Democratic senators – though usually much closer to the average Republican.

The American Conservative Union finds that the average Republican senator voted conservatively 85 percent of the time, and that the average Democrat voted conservatively 13 percent of the time. McCain voted conservatively 74 percent of the time.

Although it’s at the opposite end of the political spectrum, Americans for Democratic Action essentially agreed. It found that the average Republican senator voted liberally just over 12 percent of the time, and the average Democrat voted liberally 89 percent of the time. McCain voted liberally 24 percent of the time – twice as frequently as the average Republican.

McCain missed too many votes campaigning in 2007 to be included in the National Journal ranking for that year, but it found that he voted conservatively 59.4 percent of the time from 2001 to 2006.

According to the League of Conservation Voters, John McCain is the ultimate centrist. While the average Republican supported liberal environmentalist positions 13 percent of the time, and the average Democrat supported them 76 percent of the time, McCain’s 44 percent put him in the middle.

Another way to look at these numbers is to see how many of the 99 other senators voted more conservatively than McCain. In 2006, these four groups ranked McCain as the 47th, 46th, 44th and 51st most conservative member of the Senate, respectively. Surely, McCain is not nearly as liberal as the typical Democratic senator, but rankings from the left, middle and right find he is more liberal than the vast majority of Republicans in the Senate.

What issues put McCain well to the left of the average Senate Republican? The American Conservative Union lists a number of specific votes on which he differed from most other Republicans, including:

Taxes. He opposed reducing capital-gains tax rates, eliminating the inheritance tax and lowering income-tax rates.

Environment. He opposed drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, supported compliance with the Kyoto global-warming treaty, supported requiring businesses to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, favored stricter mercury-emission rules for power plants, and supported stricter fuel-efficiency standards.

Other regulations. McCain consistently supported stricter campaign-finance regulations and voted to mandate that handguns be sold only with locks.

A number of these votes were closely contested. Some of McCain’s votes led to a 50-50 deadlock in the Senate, requiring Vice President Cheney to break the tie.

In contrast to the very liberal ratings given to Obama, the interest groups find that there are about as many senators to McCain’s right as there are to his left. This might not endear him to many conservatives or liberals. But it is a real distortion to claim he is a Bush clone.

Why are Americans so united?  They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color!  They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.

Still, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart.
Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers.
Nobody rushe d to empty their bank accounts.
Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about
Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.

After the first moments of panic, they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, p utting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in ev ery place and on every car a governmen t official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing:’God Bless America !’

I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have kill ed other hundreds or thousands of people.

How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being?  Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy.

What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way?
Their land?  Their history? Their economic Power?  Money?
I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion… Only freedom can work such miracles.

Terrorism: The March 1 death strike by the Colombian army against FARC warlord Raul Reyes broke open a trove of contacts in his computer. So why did the name of Barack Obama turn up there?

Admittedly, it pales compared with other material from the dead thug’s computer — such as FARC efforts to obtain uranium or Hugo Chavez’s $300 million support.

But the little Obama reference within the 15 FARC letters released by the Colombian government signals a disturbing pattern of contacts with rogue actors. It’s not the first time, and Obama has yet to distance himself.

In a Feb. 28 letter, FARC chieftain Raul Reyes cheerily reported to his inner circle that he met “two gringos” who assured him “the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support ‘Plan Colombia’ nor will he sign the TLC (Free Trade Agreement).”

Aside from some interesting possibilities about who these “gringos” are — a congressional delegation did visit Ecuador and an international leftist “congress” was held in Quito around this time — the real question is why anyone secretly consorting with FARC would be able to speak for presidential candidate Obama.

Obama hasn’t said a whole lot about Colombia other than to criticize President Bush’s good relations with President Uribe. With this correspondence suggesting that FARC knows what he thinks, maybe the American voters have a right to know what he thinks, too. Five questions come to mind:

1. Is it true Obama would cut off Plan Colombia military aid to our ally, which would serve the terrorist group FARC’s interests?

2. Does Obama still oppose a free trade agreement for Colombia, even though that puts him on the same side as FARC in the debate?

3. Does Obama know or care that one of his staffers or supporters is claiming to disclose his positions in secret meetings with FARC terrorists outside government channels?

4. Can he tell us why his supporters would pass on such information to terrorists, and what he or she could gain from it?

5. Will Obama, as president, treat FARC as the serious terrorists they are, given that they still hold three Americans hostage?

These aren’t idle “gotcha” questions, by the way. Based on his campaign so far, Obama favors meeting and negotiating with rogue leaders without preconditions, passing secret messages to foreign countries at odds with his public positions and tolerating Che-flag wielding leftists among his supporters who advance a radical agenda in his name.

Now that FARC seems to have an inside line to Obama’s campaign, maybe he ought to come tell voters what he really stands for.

Election 2008: For an ambitious and savvy politician, Barack Obama has not picked his friends wisely. They include an assortment of influence-peddlers, terrorists and Iraqi billionaires. If you thought the Clinton White House was interesting, just wait.

My reasoning that Obama is doing so well is because of the social disease of political correctness & white guilt.

I agree that Obama will bring a change—a change we don’t want.

What does this mean.

Does not this election remind you of 1968—Radicals against society.

About half the voters were black, according to polling place interviews, and four out of five of them supported Obama. Black women turned out in particularly large numbers.

All I heard in his victory speech was, more and more taxes for a more and more entitlement society. Run away from Iraq and let everyone in this country who gets here. Anyone who makes money will be more heavily taxed. and the U.S.A. should be more like a third world country.

Elect someone with no experience. Elect someone because he is black.

This writer believes this could happen. Face it, blacks will vote for him, minorities will vote for him and whites will vote for him because we had enough and “white Guilt”.

The Obama campaign has taken advantage of our so called societal problems.

We should not be concern with our economy, the war, extremist or anything else.

Just vote Obama to say you are politically correct.

Election ’08: After revealing she had never been “really proud of my country,” Michelle Obama damns business as “the money-making industry.” By contrast, she says, the Obamas are in “the helping industry.” Bad omen.

Visiting a day-care center in Zanesville, Ohio, America’s would-be first lady advised the assembled women not to “go into corporate America.”

“Become teachers,” she counseled. “Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we’re encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the moneymaking industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.”

No disrespect to teachers and nurses, but there are problems with those remarks.

First, when she says “move out of the moneymaking industry into the helping industry,” she speaks volumes. Apparently, well-paid people in all kinds of profitable fields are, in the Obama worldview, just idle, scheming splinter-collectors who help only themselves.

On the other hand, the social workers who make sure the cash flows from the various elements of the massive government bureaucracy are the great and noble helpers.

However, the oil CEO who invests billions of dollars of his firm’s profits in the research and development of new technologies that bring hitherto unreachable deposits of fuel to the cars and homes of millions of Americans is very much in “the helping industry.”

So is the pharmaceutical executive who uses her business skills and scientific knowledge to decide to spend billions on R&D for new drugs that lengthen the lives of millions.

The real, productive jobs in the private sector help people in ways government can’t. A president who does not understand these things will kill the geese who lay the golden eggs — kill them with high taxes and onerous regulations and ultimately adverse economic conditions.

Second, did the Obamas really make a tough choice to give up high-paying jobs to work in community service? The University of Chicago Medical Center reportedly pays Michelle more than $300,000 a year for her services as “vice president of community and external affairs.”

Her husband made a big splash last year with a bill to curtail lavish executive compensation. If he could incorporate that concept into his health care plan and stop hospitals from overpaying their public liaisons, it might go a long way toward cutting health costs.

We doubt, however, that Michelle would find that very “helpful.”

Campaign ’08: In blaming America first for al-Qaida in Iraq’s presence, Barack Obama shows the difference between being glib and being articulate and just why John McCain should be president of the United States.

It was as if Neville Chamberlain was blaming World War II on Winston Churchill, or if someone had claimed Hitler wouldn’t have invaded France if the British hadn’t put their expeditionary force there first.

In an incredible long-distance exchange with McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee for president, Sen. Obama first states that he would send soldiers back to Iraq “if al-Qaida is forming a base in Iraq.”

When McCain responded that “al-Qaida in Iraq” has that name because it is already there, Obama replied that there was “no such thing as al-Qaida in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq.”

Slick Willie, meet slicker Barack, who is blissfully unaware that terrorists hate us for what we are, not what we do.

There are many reasons why we liberated Iraq, and John McCain whispering in George Bush’s ear was not one of them. We did not “invade” Iraq. We went in under authority of U.N. Resolution 1441, which gave Saddam Hussein a “final opportunity” to give a full accounting of what happened to the WMD that the mass murderer used against his neighbors and own people, or there would be “serious consequences.” Saddam didn’t, and there were.

We’re sure Obama would rather have used some “aggressive personal diplomacy,” as he so glibly puts it, on Saddam. His policy would be to bomb an ally such as Pakistan while talking to a soon-to-be nuclear adversary such as Iran.

And as long as Obama’s borrowing phraseology from other politicians, we’re surprised he hasn’t paraphrased the words of the late William Borah, whom he rivals in naivete.

On hearing of the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939, the Idaho senator lamented: “Lord, if only I could have talked with Hitler, all this might have been avoided.”

Ah, if only Barack had been able to talk with Saddam . . .

Whether we’re talking about Saddam’s Iraq, al-Qaida, or other states and terrorist groups, the fact is that they were and are linked by a common enemy and goal — they want the U.S. destroyed. They are allies as much as Germany, Japan and Italy were allies in World War II. They may not coordinate every jot and tittle of their efforts, but the enemy of their enemy is their friend.

That there were links was confirmed by Lee Hamilton, vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission, who said that the commission did not disagree with the administration’s assertion that there were connections between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

Added Thomas Kean, commission chairman: “There were contacts between Iraq and al-Qaida, a number of them, some of them a little shadowy. They were definitely there.”

Indeed there were. For example, Abdul Rahman Yasin, a member of the al-Qaida cell that detonated the 1993 World Trade Center bomb, found safe haven in Iraq, and documents recently found in Tikrit indicate that Saddam provided Yasin with both a home and a salary. Why?

Back in 1999, ABC News reported that Saddam had offered bin Laden asylum, citing their “long relationship” and a December 1998 meeting in Afghanistan between Osama and Iraqi intelligence chief Faruq Hijazi. And so on, and so on.

In 1998, the Clinton Justice Department alleged in an indictment against bin Laden that “al-Qaida reached an understanding with the government of Iraq that al-Qaida would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al-Qaida would work cooperatively with the government of Iraq.”

As the Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes has reported, reams of captured documents show that elite Iraqi military units trained some 8,000 al-Qaida terrorists. They belonged to groups such as Algeria’s GSPC, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Ansar al Islam and the Sudanese Liberation Army, at camps in Samarra, in Ramadi and at Salman Pak, where a Boeing 707 fuselage was used for terrorist training.

Perhaps Obama has an explanation for Iraqi intelligence operative Ahmed Hikmat Shaker helping one of the 9/11 hijackers get to Malaysia and attending the Kuala Lumpur meeting in January 2000 with two of the hijackers, a meeting roundly acknowledged to be the initial 9/11 planning session.

The charge that our liberation of Iraq has caused terrorists to flock to Iraq disproves Obama’s own argument that Iraq is not central to the war on terror. Better they flock to Iraq to be killed by American and Iraqi troops than flock to a Pittsburgh or Detroit to execute plans to kill Americans here.

Very Interesting Coincidences

 I recently came across some information regarding American-Israeli relations that I thought was worth sharing.  I am not exactly sure what it all means, but I have learned enough in my life to know that there is no such thing as coincidences.

The following is just a sampling with the real kicker at the end.

 October 30, 1991:

 President Bush (1st one) opened the Madrid Conference, the intended purpose of which was to strip Israel of its land in exchange for peace with the Palestinian Arabs. ON THAT VERY DAY, an extremely rare storm formed on the coast of Nova Scotia , a storm later named ‘The Perfect Storm’ (which the book and movie were about), and record-setting waves pounded the New England coast causing heavy damage to the President’s home in Kennebunkport, Maine .

 August 23, 1992:

 
The Madrid Conference moved to Washington, D.C.  With the same agenda of attempting to wrest land from a sovereign country.  That, of course, would create a state of homelessness for thousands of Jews. ON THAT VERY DAY, Hurricane Andrews produced an estimated $30 billion in damage, leaving 180,000 Floridians homeless.  It was the worst natural disaster to ever hit America, at least up to that time.

 
January 16, 1994:

President Clinton meets with the Syrian President in order to develop a strategy that would force Israel to give up the Golan Heights.  LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER. A powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks southern California. Which left countless Americans homeless.

March 1, 1997:

Arafat begins a one-month tour of America and President Clinton publicly rebukes Israel for not surrendering land for peace. ON THE VERY DAY that Arafat lands in America, powerful tornadoes devastate huge sections of the country while ripping across Texas , Arkansas , Mississippi , Kentucky , and Tennessee .  Days later, as Arafat is still touring, storms hit the Dakotas, causing the worst flooding of the century.  Weeks of storms rage throughout the Midwest until Arafat completes his tour. The day he leaves the U.S., the storms suddenly begin to settle down, and end within a few days.

January 21, 1998:

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu meets with Clinton and is coldly received as President Clinton and Secretary of State Madeline Albright refuse to lunch with him. ON THAT VERY DAY , just hours later, the Monica Lewinski scandal erupts and will consume the major portion of Clinton’s time for the remainder of his tenure.

Others include:

The World Trade Center Bombing of 1993, on the day that Secretary Albright leaves on a trip to visit 8 Arab/Muslim countries to develop a strategy against Israel .

The Northridge Earthquake in 1994, on the day that President Clinton and Syrian President Assad demand that Israel turn the Golan Heights over to Syria.

Ravaging tornadoes hit the Mid-West on the day in 2002 that Bush negotiates Arafat’s release from Israeli capture.

In 2002 that Bush refuses to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem and refuses to recognize Jerusalem as the Capital.  Hurricane Lili hits the United States at the same time

But here, ladies and gents, is the kicker.

August of 2005 was the month when Sharon expelled the Jews of Gaza from their homes.  Just about 10,000 Jews were made homeless, in accordance with the demands of the American President and his Secretary of State.  The operation was being concluded on August 29. THAT VERY DAY, America was hit by THE WORST natural disaster to have ever occurred in America.  Hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans area and just about 500,000 people were made homeless.

10,000 Jews out of a population of 6 million is a percentage of .00167.

500,000 Americans out of a population of 300 million is a percentage of .00167.

Election 2008: Michelle Obama didn’t seem to think there was anything in her country to be proud of until her husband’s presidential campaign took off. Maybe she should drop the politics and open a newspaper or read a blog.
Barack Obama tried to play down his wife’s statement, but it’s not the sort of remark that can be spun away. To say that “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country,” and trying to justify it as pride in a political campaign, carries a casually stark assumption that there’s nothing within this country that’s really worth praising.

Arizona is seeing signs of a flight by Mexican immigrants out of the state and back across the border. Local reformers credit the state’s recent crackdown on illegal immigration. Indeed, sanctions against employers are playing a key role.

The new state law — which goes into effect March 1 — punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants by suspending their business license for 10 days on the first violation and revoking it for a second offense.

At the same time, the county sheriff in Phoenix has been helping enforce federal immigration laws by rounding up people living there illegally.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has given arrest authority to many deputies. So in the course of a traffic stop, illegal aliens without driver’s licenses for the first time now stand a real chance of being deported.

In response to the crackdown, illegals are flooding the Mexican consulate in Phoenix to obtain papers to move back across the border and enroll their children in school.

The consulate is reporting an “unusual” 400% increase in parents applying for Mexican birth certificates for their anchor babies and other documents they need to return to Mexico.

They’re also requesting a paper known as a “menaje de casa,” which allows illegals living in the U.S. to cross into Mexico without paying a tax on their furniture and other household goods.

How charming that they follow their own immigration rules, but not ours. And how telling that the Mexican government makes it hard for its citizens to return, while making it easier for them to break into our country by handing out thousands of maps to border tunnels and water tanks in the Arizona desert.

Some immigrants’ rights groups are claiming U.S. citizens, not just illegals, are crossing into Mexico, because the Arizona economy is flagging, and construction and retail jobs are drying up. That makes little sense. Americans don’t flee to Mexico to find work.

Fact is, some 30,000 illegal immigrants plan to leave Arizona sometime before March 1, when the state’s tough new immigration laws kick in, according to a survey conducted earlier this month by Chicanos Por La Causa. And CPLC can hardly be accused of anti-immigrant bias — it’s a nonprofit immigrant-support group.

State lawmakers who pushed through the crackdown are already heralding its success. The desired effect was having illegals see that the red carpet would no longer be rolled out for them.

Arizona has borne the brunt of the Mexican invasion, and its citizens are fed up. According to a study last year, 12% of Arizona workers are in the U.S. illegally — the highest share in the country.

Illegal immigrants and their families are not only a burden on public services, but many of them join gangs and commit violent crimes while living here.

Amnesty advocates argue it’s not feasible to deport millions of illegals. They say it’s impossible to round up 12 million people and kick them out of the country.

But the out-migration in Arizona proves you don’t have to. Just making a strong show of law enforcement at the work site and on the street corners is enough to discourage illegals from staying.

Arizona is a model for other states being overrun by illegals. If they just send a clear message to immigrants living here illegally that they’re serious about enforcing the law, they’ll pack up and leave. And they’ll tell their friends and relatives waiting to break in on the other side of the border that it just ain’t worth it.

It costs a lot of money to hire coyotes and smugglers to get here. They’ll see in due order that they’ll be wasting their money and will stay home — or get in line with law-abiding immigrants who actually want to come to America and be American citizens.

Terrorists recruiting on net via Facebook

RADICAL British Jihadist groups are using Facebook and other social networking sites to recruit members and distribute extremist literature.

A private Facebook group called Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah, the name of a successor organisation to the banned extremist group Al Muhajiroun, has been operating since early 2007.

The Facebook group has links posted to extremist literature by the jailed radical preachers Abu Hamza al-Misri and Abu Qutada calling for the waging of armed jihad against the British and American governments. There is also literature demanding the expulsion of any Muslim who votes in elections or “provides assistance” to the ‘kuffar’, or non-believer.

Five young British Muslims were freed last week after their conviction for downloading and sharing literature from extremist websites was quashed by the Appeal Court.

The Lord Chief Justice said there was no proof of terrorist intent. The Home Office is still considering the landmark case, which lawyers for the men say has huge implications for counter-terrorism prosecutions.

Although the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain welcomed the ruling, it warned young Muslims to stay away from extremist websites. The parliament’s leader, Dr Ghayasudin Siddiqui, said: “It is a dangerous area.”

One website article, entitled Jihad: A Ten Part Compilation, describes violent Jihad as an “individual duty” of all Muslims. It includes a religious ruling for young Muslims on the legitimacy of taking up “martyrdom” without informing their parents. It concludes: “No permission (from parents] is required in obligatory jihad.”

Al Muhajiroun and its affiliate groups Al Ghurabaa and The Saved Sect were banned in the UK in 2005 under the Terrorism Act and their leader, the radical cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed, was prevented from re-entering the UK.

Bakri Mohammed, who now lives in Lebanon, has since boasted that his organisationwas operating until recently on several major British campuses including Oxford, Imperial College London and Cambridge.

Anjem Choudary, the former second in command of Al-Muhajiroun and current leader of its successor groups, Follower of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah and Captive Support, said that his organisations widely used the internet and social networking sites to recruit support, but claimed no link to the Facebook group.

Choudary said Omar Bakri Mohammed continued to advise members over the internet from Lebanon.

Bakri Mohammed has referred to the September 11 hijackers as the “magnificent 19″ and declared that “the life of an unbeliever has no value”.

A Home Office spokesman said last night: “The Government is committed to tackling those who encourage terrorism, including those who glorify the work of terrorists and those who spread messages of hate on the internet.”
